KathrinOhla

Kathrin Ohla is the R&D Director of Human Perception and Bioresponses at Firmenich, Switzerland. She studied Psychology at the University of Magdeburg and received her doctoral degree from Leipzig University in 2007. Her research career includes postdocs at the Nestlé Research Center in Lausanne and the Monell Chemical Senses Center in Philadelphia where she studied the gustatory and olfactory systems and multisensory integration. From 2012-2021 she led research groups at the German Institute of Human Nutrition in Potsdam and the Research Center Jülich and she was a full professor of Psychology at the Medical School Berlin. Since October 2021, she is an R&D director at Firmenich. Her expertise is in linking brain measures with behavior and the development of state-of-the art methods required to study this link. She authored more than 40 papers and was awarded numerous international awards including the Ajinomoto Award and the IFF Award for her research in gustation and chemosensory psychophysics, respectively.
