Talk: Sensory science beyond food - A world of sensory for all
Dr Liz Sheehan is the Director of Sensory Science for SRLPharma, Cork, Ireland.
Following her PhD in Food Science from UCC, she has over 25 years’ experience in sensory & consumer research for the food industry. Working with SRLPharma since 2013, Liz is actively involved in supporting the pharmaceutical industry in the development of acceptable/palatable formulated mainstream and orphan medicine and for sensory assessment of APIs, excipients, and nutraceuticals products.
Liz, together with SRLPharmas’ clinical research team, has developed protocols specifically designed to provide sensory services to the highest level of patient/volunteer safety and quality (GCP standard (ICH- GCP Clinical Trial Directives) when tasting medicine.
Liz is an active member of the European non-food working group (E3S), the EuPFI (The European Paediatric Formulation Initiative) & the PaCeMe Taskforce (Patient Centric Medicine).
