ESN Award for Oral Presentation

ESN

The European Sensory Network (ESN) is a community of 42 partners—universities, research institutes, service companies, and industry—working together to advance sensory and consumer science. We are pleased to present the ESN Eurosense Award for an Oral presentation, recognizing outstanding scientific contribution and communication by a researcher at Eurosense.

Award Details
The winner will receive:

  • 1000 € cash prize
  • Travel and expenses to attend the next ESN meeting in 2026/2027, where the author will also be invited to present the work

Evaluation Criteria
A panel of 15+ ESN members at Eurosense will evaluate submissions based on:

  • Relevance and importance of the topic
  • Clarity, storytelling, and engagement
  • Overall scientific impact

The winner will be selected through internal ESN voting, with results shared with the conference chairs.

Key ESN Priority Topics
The following conference topics will be subject to the ESN Eurosense award for oral presentation:

  • Increasing the impact of sensory and consumer science
  • Sensory science for health and wellbeing
  • Sensory and consumer drivers of sustainability

Award for the Best Oral Presentation in Sensometrics & Data Science

The Sensometrics Society is an association founded in 1992 with the mission of increasing awareness that sensory and consumer science requires dedicated methodological and statistical approaches. The Society also works to strengthen communication and collaboration among individuals interested in the scientific principles, methods, and applications of sensometrics.

Every two years, the Sensometrics Society organizes the Sensometrics Conference, an international event dedicated to sharing scientific advancements in the field.

For the first time at the Eurosense conference, the Sensometrics Society is pleased to introduce an Award for the Best Oral Presentation in Sensometrics & Data Science.

Eligible presenters must participate in one of the Sensometrics Oral Sessions at Eurosense 2026, including sessions focused on data science, data visualization, or sensometrics. The winner will be selected by a panel of Sensometrics Society members, whose names will be published prior to the conference.

The award includes:

  • A cash prize of 1000 €
  • A complimentary registration for the Sensometrics Conference 2028
  • An invitation to deliver a 15-minute oral presentation at the Sensometrics 2028 conference

Awards for Poster Presentations


Poster Awards – supported by Elsevier

Food-Quality-and-Preference-cover

The academic journal Food Quality and Preference will sponsor 2 awards for the best posters presented during the EuroSense 2026. Food Quality and Preference publishes research focusing on sensory, consumer and behavioural research in food but also non-food products.

The Scientific Committee will select the winners according to their poster content and presentation.

Prize:

  • A certificate
  • 2 prizes available, €500 awarded to each winner

Judging is conducted by members of the scientific committee and awards are presented during the closing ceremony.



Poster Award – Sponsored by Compusense

Awarded to the poster that best reflects the theme of the conference - A Sense of Impact.

Prize:

  • A certificate
  • 1 full delegate place for the next edition of the conference

Voting will take place in the app by conference attendees and the award will be presented during the closing ceremony.
